Trends and correlates of substance use disorders among probationers and parolees in the United States 2002–2014

Highlights • Probationers have higher substance abuse prevalence rates than non-probationers. • Substance abuse trends among probationers/parolees have been relatively stable. • Prevalence rates for alcohol abuse/dependence are two to six times higher than for other substances.
