Summary:We report a case of severe neonatal infection on day 6 of life due to Toxoplasma gondii mimicking septic shock syndrome associated with multiple organ failure such as acute respiratory distress syndrome with persistent pulmonary hypertension, neurological distress, thrombocytopenia with disseminated intravascular coagulopathy and transaminitis. Clinicians facing an unexplained life-threatening condition in the first week of life should take into consideration the possibility of neonatal toxoplasmosis.
