Summary:Sera from 76 immunocompetent and 293 immunocompromised subjects were assayed for anti-Candida antibodies. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value for invasive candidiasis were 74%, 75%, 62%, and 84% in the immunocompetent group and 15%, 60%, 1.7%, and 93% in the immunocompromised group, respectively. Syscan3 has high negative predictive value.
