Summary: | Urine examination showed 3+ albumin, 10–12 erythrocytes/hpf, and 5-6 white blood cells/hpf, and spot urine protein creatinine ratio was 12.3. {Figure 1} Renal biopsy findings: on light microscopy, glomeruli showed mild and variable increase in mesangial matrix with a uniform and diffuse thickening of basement membrane having subepithelial spikes suggestive of MN. Severity of hypoalbuminemia is an independent risk factor; a serum albumin concentration of ≤2.8 g/dL was identified as the threshold level for increased risk in patients with MN. |
