Switches, Latches, and Amplifiers: Common Themes of G Proteins and Molecular Motors

Two of the best studied protein matchines are the ATP-hydrolyzing motor proteins and the GTP-hydrolyzing G proteins. The biological activities and enzymatic cycles of G proteins and molecular motors are discussed.
