Isolation and Structure of Two Metabolites of a Macrolide Antibiotic, SF-837 Substance

M1 Substance, one of the main metabolites of SF-837, was isolated from the urine of rats, or digested solution of SF-837 with a liver homogenate, and identified as 4"-depropionyl SF-837 by direct comparison. Another major metabolite, M2 substance was isolated from the bile of rats, and its stru...

Summary:M1 Substance, one of the main metabolites of SF-837, was isolated from the urine of rats, or digested solution of SF-837 with a liver homogenate, and identified as 4"-depropionyl SF-837 by direct comparison. Another major metabolite, M2 substance was isolated from the bile of rats, and its structure was proposed to be 14-hydroxyl M1 on the basis of the mass and nuclear magnetic resonance analyses.
