Summary: | p-Terphenyls consisting of a C-18 tricyclic or polycyclic C-18 aromatic skeleton, have diverse structures because of the variation of the middle ring and the connections between the rings, and to the main skeleton. p-Terphenyls have recently been found to exhibit various biological activities such as cytotoxic, α-glucosidase inhibitory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activity. In this review, we briefly summarized the structural varieties, biosyntheses, and bioactivities of natural p-terphenyl derivatives referring to the recent 10 years' publications. |
