Summary: | History is often rewritten because of various reasons and there are different types of texts referring to history. As Patricia Fumero also states, there are two main differences between fiction writers and historians: on one hand, historical novels offer the writer the possibility to recreate those events that are incompletely represented in the primary sources, and, on the other hand, the research done on sources related to a certain historical character can help the writer draw certain conclusions or think of certain hypotheses. Unfortunately, a historian or a biographer cannot benefit from such privileges. |
