Improved method for purification of toxic peptides produced by cyanobacteria

The improved method consists of ODS-silica gel extraction, and separation on silica gel and HPLC with UV (238 nm) detector. The method has been successfully applied to the isolation of toxic peptides from the Monroe and M-228 strains of Microcystis aeruginosa. This method reduces toxin extraction an...

Summary:The improved method consists of ODS-silica gel extraction, and separation on silica gel and HPLC with UV (238 nm) detector. The method has been successfully applied to the isolation of toxic peptides from the Monroe and M-228 strains of Microcystis aeruginosa. This method reduces toxin extraction and separation time, and so enables a rapid isolation of peptide toxins from cyanobacteria.
