Summary: | Pregnant and parenting adolescents represent a significant proportion of the individuals directly affected by intimate partner violence. Although screening tools are useful, it is important to ask very specific questions to open lines of communication with adolescents. This article presents a clinical case that highlights the challenges of screening adolescents for intimate partner violence and offers suggestions for health care providers. Specific examples of screening questions are offered. |
