Low molecular weight heparin‐induced skin necrosis occurring distant from injection sites and without thrombocytopenia (Case Report). J Intern Med 1998; 243: 313–15. In this paper we report a case of 76‐year‐old white male patient with skin necrosis induced by subcutaneous prophylactic administration of low‐molecular‐weight heparin (LMWH). Skin necrosis occured distant from heparin injection sites and without concomitant thrombocytopenia. This is the first reported case presenting these clinical findings.
