Highlights • Understanding of the mechanisms underlying photosensitivity is still limited. • Differences in the OCT parameters might be related with photosensitivity. • The RNFL and choroid thickness was found as increased in people with JME and a PPR. • Macular thickness was decreased in people with JME and a PPR. • Further studies investigating the peripheral mechanisms of PPR are necessary.
