Preparation of SrTiO3 nanofibres by hydrothermal method

SrTiO3 nanofibres were hydrothermally synthesised using Ti(OC4H9)4 and SrCl2 as starting materials for the first time. The crystallisation of precursor TiO2.nH2O had a little influence on the morphologies of nanofibres of SrTiO3. In this hydrothermal process, hydroxide ions play an important role. F...

Summary:SrTiO3 nanofibres were hydrothermally synthesised using Ti(OC4H9)4 and SrCl2 as starting materials for the first time. The crystallisation of precursor TiO2.nH2O had a little influence on the morphologies of nanofibres of SrTiO3. In this hydrothermal process, hydroxide ions play an important role. For this reaction, low concentration TiO2.nH2O, high-reactivity TiO2.nH2O and Sr(OH)2.nH2O, and long reaction time were necessary.
