Summary:Samples of muscle, kidney, and liver were collected from free-living roe deer, red deer, European hare, and wild boar in eastern Slovakia, and the distribution of cadmium and lead was determined. The concentration data are tabulated. In the two deer species, Cd levels never exceeded the permissible limit, but in European hare, Cd concentrations in kidneys exceeded standards, as did the Cd levels in kidneys of wild boar. For Pb, concentrations never exceeded permissible levels in any tissue of any species.
