Rapid response of Trichophyton tonsurans-induced onychomycosis after treatment with terbinafine

We describe an 8‐year‐old Hispanic female who presented with distal subungual onychomycosis and tinea capitis. Both foci of infection yielded Trichophyton tonsurans upon culture, and were clinically and mycologically cured with terbinafine 62.5 mg twice daily for 1 week. This aspect of treatment with terbinafine has not previously been reported.
