Summary:A general, dynamic relationship between the data obtained from a force platform, center of gravity of the body on the platform and the time rate of change of moment of momentum of the body about its center of gravity was derived from principles of dynamics for a system of particles. The derived equations are useful for processing and interpreting the force platform data. Displacement and path of center of gravity of human body during standing on one foot and level walking were estimated by using the derived equations. An estimation of the time rate of change of moment of momentum of the body was also obtained. A biomechanical interpretation of point of application of the resultant of ground reactions was presented.
