Introduction of Nitrogen Atoms in [n]Cyclo-meta-phenylenes via Cross-coupling Macrocyclization
Multiple nitrogen atoms were introduced in macrocyclic structures of [n]cyclo-meta-phenylene via a concise one-pot cross coupling between pyridylene and phenylene units. Five congeners of n=6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 were isolated, and their structures were fully characterized in the crystalline solid sta...

Summary: | Multiple nitrogen atoms were introduced in macrocyclic structures of [n]cyclo-meta-phenylene via a concise one-pot cross coupling between pyridylene and phenylene units. Five congeners of n=6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 were isolated, and their structures were fully characterized in the crystalline solid state to reveal a variety of macrocyclic structures. The solution-phase analyses showed the presence of flexible macrocyclic structures. |
