Highlights • We tested a potential anti-inflammatory effect of manumycin A on human macrophages. • Manumycin A downregulates proinflammatory genes in monocytic THP-1 cell line. • The release of proinflammatory cytokines by manumycin A is inhibited also in monocytes.
