A dynamical model to assess the effects of industrialization on the degradation of forestry biomass in a given region is presented. It is shown that increasing industrialization may lead to eventual extinction of the forest. However, incorporating reforestation into the model may allow one to sustain the forestry biomass at its carrying capacity. motivation for this model is the effect of industrialization of the Doon Valley in India.
