Summary:This study of multiple cases aimed to analyze the social support network of young mothers of children diagnosed with congenital syphilis in a municipality in Ceará with six participants. Information was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the cross-case synthesis analytical technique. The young women's social network comprised family members, people outside the family, and social facilities. We identified heterogeneous bonds and social support as essential in the gestational and postpartum periods after the diagnosis of syphilis. The vertical transmission of syphilis is permeated by subjectivities identified from understanding the context involving social networks, interpersonal relationships, and support for mothers and their children.
