Summary:Toyota has developed a new parallel hybrid power train system. This hybrid system achieved 50% reduction of CO 2 emission in the 10–15 mode. The transaxle of this hybrid power train system contains a generator and a motor. It works as a continuously variable transmission by controlling the generator and the motor. The load for this transaxle and behavior of the power train under this hybrid system were analyzed by a simulation and an experiment. We designed the transaxle using the results.
