Phase behavior and thermodynamic properties in the system Fe–Al

Summary:We used the Calphad technique to represent the thermodynamic properties and phase equilibria in the system Fe–Al. Relative to the description accepted in the COST507 project, we improved the representation of the bcc_A2, bcc_B2 and fcc_A1 phases. We conclude that new heat capacity measurements are required for the intermetallic phases FeAl 2, Fe 2Al 5 and FeAl 3 to improve a thermodynamic description of this system. New activity measurements for iron are required to improve a thermodynamic description for the bcc_A2 and bcc_B2 phase.
