Summary:Management of diabetes requires a multidisciplinary approach including: medical therapy, nutritional therapy, self-management education, psychosocial assessment and care, hypoglycemia awareness training, and exercise. Exercise in an effective lifestyle management technique for the prevention of type 2 diabetes and for the management of both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Here we review the use of exercise evaluation and prescription for the prevention and management of diabetes.
