Summary:Although optimal management of patients with refractory Kawasaki disease (patients who fail to become afebrile after the initial course of IVIG, or intravenous gamma-globulin) has not been established, some clinicians advocate retreatment with IVIG. Persistent fever, one of the most important risk factors for coronary artery lesion development, is important to control as early as possible to prevent CAL formation.
