Summary: | We have reported several cDNA clones encoding alpha and beta subunits of carp gonadotropin from a pituitary gland cDNA library. However, there is a weak positive cDNA clone, pc 1258, whose DNA and deduced amino acid sequences shown below have high degree of homology with the sequences of mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase subunit III found in many species. The percentage of homology of DNA and amino acid sequence is 76 and 81.2, respectively, as compared to the human molecule; 75.4 and 81.2 to bovine; 77.4 and 80.0 to mouse; 79.5 and 90.0 to Xenopus ; 64.6 and 65.5 to Drosophila 55.2 and 45 to yeast. |
