Summary:The effect of the firing temperature on the phase composition and electrophysical properties of ceramic articles obtained on the basis of compacted powders of the product of the interaction of potassium polytitanate and water solutions of iron (III) salts is investigated. When fired at temperature near 700°C (optimal value) the ceramic has pronounced properties of a solid electrolyte and is formed on the basis of a solid solution with the composition K 1.46 Ti 7.2 Fe 0.8 O 16 . At higher temperatures this solid solution becomes unstable and partially decomposes.
