Summary:It is proposed that the capabilities of the “Instron 1122” testing machine be expanded through the use of a digital oscilloscope such as the ASK-3106. Using a digital oscilloscope makes it possible to eliminate chart-paper recording, significantly reduce the inertia of the recording mechanism, and increase the sensitivity and duration of the recording operation. Those improvements will in turn make it possible to monitor the rupture of the individual components in a multi-filament fiber, record the stress-strain curves of low-strength fibers, and study relaxation processes.
