Summary:In this work, zinc nanoparticles were prepared by wet chemical method. The particles were examined by particle size analyzer, their morphology and micro structure were observed and elementally detected through scanning electron microphotography. Antimicrobial properties were evaluated using soil burial test. The effect of zinc nanoparticle treatment on physical properties and dyeing performance of cotton was evaluated. The work opened up a new avenue of manufacturing a new generation cotton nanocomposites with barrier properties against microbe with improved physical as well as dyeing performances.
