Highlights • Reduction of Tregs and increase of Th1 cells was observed on the intraindividual basis in sitagliptin treated DM2 patients. • No effect of sitagliptin treatment was observed on the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ cells and on the quantity of NK and Th2 cells. • The changes were present after 4 weeks and resolved after 1 year of the sitagliptin treatment.
