Summary:The fatty acid, sterol, and tocol compositions; total phenolic, total flavonoid, amino acid, and mineral contents; and antioxidant activity of Vincetoxicum canescens subsp. canescens and V. canescens subsp. pedunculata (endemic) seeds were examined. Seeds were rich in oleic acid, linoleic acid, β-sitosterol, and α-tocopherol. In V. canescens subsp. canescens lysine and in V. canescens subsp. pedunculata, glutamic acid was the major amino acids. Potassium was the most abounded mineral. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity of V. canescens subsp. canescens seeds were higher than V. canescens subsp. pedunculata seeds.
