Summary:► A new two-phase exponential model for describing kinetics of biosorption was used. ► It was proved that obtained parameters were correlated with the parameters of models described in the literature. ► Application of new model yielding better description of obtained results. In the present work, two-phase exponential model for describing kinetics of biosorption was used. The parameters were compared with other models (pseudo-second order model, Weber–Morris model of diffusion into the boundary layer) used in describing kinetics of the experiments. It was shown that the proposed model was a good tool in description of the results. The rate constants of two-phase exponential model were considered valid and were statistically significantly correlated with parameters of other models.
