Ciprofloxacin-resistant Salmonella typhi and treatment failure
Ciprofloxacin is suggested as an alternative to chloramphenicol for the treatment of typhoid fever in patients in the UK recently returned from countries in the Indian sub-continent, but there are alternatives when strains become drug-resistant.
