Summary:The use of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) to quantify drugs in biological matrices has been well established over the last decade. Extremely fast LC/MS methods are commonplace in the pharmaceutical industry for high‐throughput Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) screening. However, to truly take full advantage of high‐throughput ADME screening, a generic method is needed that eliminates the need to develop a new method for each new compound being screened. New developments in the stationary phase of turbulent flow columns has allowed us to develop an on‐line biological sample cleanup method that is suitable for over 99% of the compounds in the Cephalon database.
