Summary: | Soft tissue sarcomas of the breast account for less than 1% of all malignant breast tumors. The majority of these lesions have an epithelial component and are thus classified as "cystosarcoma phyllodes." All other types of sarcomas are categorized according to the existing histological soft tissue classification. It is difficult to determine the relative frequency of the different types of breast sarcoma because there are wide variations among the reported series. We report a case of myxofibrosarcoma, a variant of malignant fibrous histiocytoma, in a 58-year-old woman. |
