Summary:We present the case of an immunocompetent host with acute glomerulonephritis following parvovirus B19 infection. Renal biopsy demonstrated immune-mediated disease; parvovirus B19 DNA was detected in renal tissue and blood. The patient improved with corticosteroid therapy. Repeat serology 3 months later confirmed recovery from the acute viral infection, although viraemia persisted.
