Summary:Abstract We report the case of a 55-year-old man who presented to the outpatient lipid clinic for his scheduled follow-up with severely low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels of new onset. Diagnostic workup showed that he was infected by visceral leishmaniasis. He was treated with liposomal amphotericin B and serum lipid levels returned to usual values.
