Summary:NMR and GC-MS analysis of fractions of the CHCl 3 extract of Trichilia catigua bark led to the identification of a mixture of three ω-phenyl alkanes, three ω-phenyl alkanoic acids, five ω-phenyl-γ-lactones, two alkyl-γ-lactones, one alkenyl-γ-lactone and a mixture of fatty acids ranging from C-14 to C-26. β-Sitosterol, stigmasterol and campesterol as free alcohols were also identified.
