Development of large- m polarizing neutron supermirror fabricated by using ion beam sputtering instrument at KURRI

Authors have succeeded in fabricating m=3.9 Fe/Si and m=5 Fe/Ge polarizing neutron supermirrors with high reflectivity using ion beam sputtering instrument installed at KURRI. The reflectivity of up-spin neutron are above 0.80 and 0.67 for the m=3.9 Fe/Si and m=5 Fe/Ge supermirrors with external mag...

Summary:Authors have succeeded in fabricating m=3.9 Fe/Si and m=5 Fe/Ge polarizing neutron supermirrors with high reflectivity using ion beam sputtering instrument installed at KURRI. The reflectivity of up-spin neutron are above 0.80 and 0.67 for the m=3.9 Fe/Si and m=5 Fe/Ge supermirrors with external magnetic field of 45 mT, in which number of layers are 1600 and 3750, respectively. The polarization efficiencies are about 0.90.
