Crystal structure of the new ternary silicide CePt3Si

The crystal structure of the new ternary silicide CePt3Si [space group P4mm, a=4.072(1)Å, c=5.442(2)Å, Z=1, V=90.25(5)Å3, R=0.0437 for 153 structure factors] was determined from single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The compound belongs to the CePt3B structure type of intermetallic compounds.
