Summary:Ferroelectric liquid crystals (FLCs) exhibit spontaneous polarization and show a response to change in the electric field Switching of this field causes a reversal in the direction of polarization. Here we report in-situ photopolymerization behavior of FLC monomers and image storage using bistable switching by applying electric field. Polymerization behavior was considerably affected by the length of alkyl spacer and structure of functional groups.
