CEMBRANE SYNTHESIS - AN ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE FOR CRASSIN ACETATE

The intramolecular alkylation of a lithioalkyne with a allylic bromide produced the fourteen membered ring of crassin acetate. A nitrile oxide cycloaddition furnished the lactone and stereocenters at C1 and C14.
