Diffusion Coefficients of Phenols in Aqueous Alcohol Solutions

Using the schlieren cylindrical lens method, diffusion coefficients were measured at 298.2 K for eight kinds of phenols in aqueous solutions of methanol, ethanol and 1-propanol. The data were compared with the estimated values from the Leffler-Cullinan correlation. The mean deviation of the estimate...

Summary:Using the schlieren cylindrical lens method, diffusion coefficients were measured at 298.2 K for eight kinds of phenols in aqueous solutions of methanol, ethanol and 1-propanol. The data were compared with the estimated values from the Leffler-Cullinan correlation. The mean deviation of the estimated values from the observed ones was found to be 6%.
