Summary:Three new indole alkaloids, named bruceollines D–F, were isolated from the root wood of Brucea mollis var. tonkinensis. On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence, the structures of bruceollines D–F were elucidated as 8,8-dimethylcyclopenta[b]indole-9-one, 8,8-dimethylcyclopenta[b]indole-9,10-dione, and 3-(2′,3′-dihydroxy-3′- methylbutyl)-1 N-β- d-glucopyranosylindole, respectively.
