Summary:An important article was published, whicht evaluated statistically significant associations (p < 0.05) using the odds ratio (OR), in the first issue of volume 113 of this journal. The study evaluated a relationship between C-reactive protein levels (CRP > 100) and the histological diagnosis of gangrenous acute cholecystitis in patients who underwent cholecystectomy (OR = 3.1).
