Natural occurrence and synthesis of 2′-oxygenated flavones, flavonols, flavanones and chalcones

Two hundred and seventy-two flavonoids (flavones, flavonols, flavanones and chalcones) oxygenated at C-2′(C-2 in the case of chalcones), which have been obtained as natural products and prepared by partial derivation or by total synthesis are surveyed according to their oxygenation patterns. Plausib...

Summary:Two hundred and seventy-two flavonoids (flavones, flavonols, flavanones and chalcones) oxygenated at C-2′(C-2 in the case of chalcones), which have been obtained as natural products and prepared by partial derivation or by total synthesis are surveyed according to their oxygenation patterns. Plausible biosynthetic pathways are suggested for 2′-oxygenated flavonoids, their chemistry and 13C NMR spectra are summarized.
