Structure and properties of perovskite-related Sr-Ru-Ti-O phases

Perovskite-related phases of the type SrRuxTi1−xO3 and Sr2RuyTi1−yO4 have been syn thesized. Both systems are obtained as homogeneous phases in the range 0⩽(x,y)⩽1. Thermogravimetric, X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity, and magnetic measurements have been used to establish a correlatio...

Summary:Perovskite-related phases of the type SrRuxTi1−xO3 and Sr2RuyTi1−yO4 have been syn thesized. Both systems are obtained as homogeneous phases in the range 0⩽(x,y)⩽1. Thermogravimetric, X-ray powder diffraction, electrical resistivity, and magnetic measurements have been used to establish a correlation between the ruthenium/titanium ratio and the thermochemical as well as the physical properties of the studied phases. The role of the oxygen stoichiometry with respect to tailoring physical properties is shortly discussed.
