Summary: | A demonstration package of predictive models for assessing the risk of forest damage from wind, fire and snow has been produced which can be accessed via the World Wide Web (WWW). The paper describes how this demonstration provides a common point of access to the models and to the research that underpinned their development. The matching of model requirements to available data is described, examples of the inputs and outputs of different models that operate at national level and site level are presented, and the benefits of such a demonstrator and use of the WWW in research are also discussed. |
