Summary: | Posterior leaflet quadrangular resection is the most commonly performed mitral valve repair procedure for patients with degenerative mitral valve disease. After resection, the remaining leaflet edges must be approximated. When the two leaflet edges are of different heights, modifications are necessary to create a tension-free repair. We present two techniques for posterior leaflet reconstruction when resection results in leaflet edges of different heights. |
