Summary:The current paper presents a proposal for improving the new torque tool calibration standard, ISO 6789:2017 by modifying the calibration scheme. The proposed calibration scheme based on experimental results cumulated by the National Institute of Standards (NIS), Egypt, as a result of daily calibration process. Validation for the proposed calibration scheme was carried out by carrying intensive calibration for set of setting torque wrenches according to the current calibration scheme in ISO 6789:2017 and according to the proposed calibration scheme, results give the comparable values with lower uncertainties, in addition to the advantage of decreasing the time required to perform the calibration of a torque tool by about 50% of the time consumed according to the ISO 6789:2017.
