Summary: | Research and experience have shown that such outside funding is not sustainable in the long-run. [...]a major challenge for these countries and the GVAP is to help them develop their own sustainable financing mechanisms. Working with these governments and others, the GVAP aims to bolster the integration and expansion of immunization into existing health systems. Since immunization is only one of many methods that can stop the spread of disease, encouraging vaccines to be delivered alongside other health services, it is the best way to thwart the spread of disease as well as educate citizens about the comprehensive nature of health care delivery. |
